Murr's Plum Nutty Cake

Makin' a List...

This cake is another of my favorite memories from growing up. Mama usually used brazil nuts for this cake, but sometimes used pecans. Either way, it was spicy and delicious.

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 jar jr. size baby food prunes
3 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp ground cloves
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp each of the following:
vanilla
salt
cinnamon
allspice
ginger
nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, salt, soda and spices in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix eggs, vanilla, oil, sugar and prunes; blend well then add flour mixture and buttermilk, alternately adding nuts.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
