The Stockyards are a fun place to be any time of year, but especially so during the holiday season, with Christmas entertainment and activities throughout the month of December. And if you happen to be looking for a special gift that captures the excitement of the old west, you need look no further than Birdhouses Plus, located at 140 E. Exchange in Stockyard Station.
Owned by Texas natives, Bob and Bobbie Jeffers, Birdhouses Plus' first store opened on the mall in Cleburne, Texas. As demand for their unique gifts reminiscent of the American west grew, the Jeffers moved their business onto the web (www.birdhousesplus.com) and into the heart of one of Fort Worth's most beloved historical sites.
"With the feel of the old west, Stockyard Station seemed a fitting
home for our store," says Bobbie Jeffers. Among the unique collection
of birdhouses, clocks, statues, and wind chimes, you'll find a treasure
trove of items to thrill enthusiasts of the old west. Replicas of the
Colt 45 Revolver, Texas Ranger Colt, and the Kentucky Pistol, are among
a few of the beautiful pieces offered. Add to mix the western themed
statues and you'll have a happy cowboy come Christmas morning.
