Fall Again?
|
Christmas is my favorite time of year and of course, Texas is my favorite place to spend the holiday. I created this site to share the joy of Christmas in Texas with families like yours. Along with a list of family activities and events throughout the state, I've included Christmas stories, holiday recipes, Christmas songs, crafts and a collection of articles to help you make the most of your time and money in your holiday planning. From time to time I also feature articles on Texas craftsmen, family traditions, and Texas celebrations, businesses that are unique to Texas. You'll want to so you don't miss the daily blog updates below to stay informed of holiday related news and events in Texas. I also continually update the Christmas stories, recipes, songs, crafts, holiday hints and articles--so check back often. And whatever else you do, appreciate one another and have a happy and safe holiday with your family. Lanore Dixon
Fall Again?
The weather man says we're in for another change in the weather. This time I hope it stays instead of the days lazing their way back into summer. I'm ready for some cooler weather! Ready to make soup and big crusty loaves of bread and pumpkin pie! It just wouldn’t' be proper to cook such things in a tank top and shorts with all the windows open and the fans blowin' full blast. Here it is October and none of us have put away our sandals! What kind of weather is that? Texas weather, I guess.
I've got some events to add to the events page. The first is the International Accordion Festival held the weekend of Oct 15, 2005 in San Antonio. Now that sounds like a truly Texan event and if anyone goes, I'd sure appreciate a report about it. Then there is the San Antonio New World Wine and Food Festival beginning on November 1-6, 2005. Well, I can't think of anything that sounds more delicious than a wine and food festival in San Antonio. After all, San Antonio has the best food in Texas, maybe the entire country. Well, I can't be sure about the entire country, because I've not eaten in every state. But I've eaten all over Texas and there is more great food concetrated in San Antonio than any other city I've ever been in Texas. So, check that out if you can. Sounds fabulous. Well, by this time tomorrow, I hope to have good reason to put my sandals away for the year. |
